NY State Fair 2019 | Central, New York

It’s always a sweet time for me to go home for a visit! Central New York was a great place to grow up. Four Seasons each and every year. We could count on that for sure! Every season is just beautiful in Central NY. The Summers are lush and green and the Falls are breathtaking with the gorgeous leaf colors. Spring is lovely with all of the blooming flowers and budding trees to include Lilacs (I sure do miss those!), and then the Winters are just exquisite with the look of a winter wonderland everywhere you turn.

Going home to visit family and friends is just a special time for me, as a part of my heart is still in New York State. Getting to include the NY State Fair during my Summer visit is always a treat. There is just so much to do at this fair! One building after another to explore.

One of my favorite buildings is the Dairy Cow Birthing Center where you can actually witness the live birth of a beautiful calf. It’s just a miracle and amazing to watch. And then the calves just start walking shortly after being born. Just incredible. Just look at these beautiful animals. I just can’t get enough of them. Great care goes into all of the cattle at the NY State Fair.

It was a thrill this year to be able to do a Gluten-Free Food Demo at the Wegmans Kitchen in the Horticulture Building. It was such a dream come true for me! Just a bucket list item. I used to sit in the audience from back when I was about 12 years old on!! I was actually able to do 2 food demos. One was a demo for a Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Cream Pie and the other was for a Gluten-Free Chicken Parmesan Pasta Skillet Dinner & Gluten-Free Citrus Avocado Salad. The audiences were great and interactive. I was able to give some gluten-free/celiac information that I hope was helpful along with some gluten-free cooking tips. I can’t wait to go back next year! Gluten-free desserts will be the focus!
