Melbourne Air & Space Show/Thunderbirds ~ March 2018

Melbourne Air & Space Show/Thunderbirds ~ March 2018

March 28, 2018

The USAF Thunderbirds arrived in Melbourne FL for their first show of the 2018 season in grand style! The Thunderbirds are an impressive group of talented pilots and team members that make up an incredible show team. The Thunderbirds Flight Surgeon, #9 Captain Glen Goncharow, and I had something in common! He was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base North Carolina as a flight surgeon, where Hubby and I were stationed when newly married. It is also the exact medical facility where I ...

Meet Tom Caton ~ Hot Air Balloon Pilot

Meet Tom Caton ~ Hot Air Balloon Pilot

September 21, 2017

When Hubby and I went to the Great Forest Park Hot Air Balloon Race, St Louis MO, last weekend, we were so impressed by the 60 hot air balloons that were participating. Friday night was the traditional Gaslight Glow when all participating hot air balloons light up their balloons each and every time at the specific sound of an signal. It was beautiful to see them all glowing at the same time. Some of the lighter colored balloons were much brighter than the darker shades. This was the first time ...

September 11 2017~Remembrance

September 11, 2017

While I am watching the somber televised September 11th, 2001 NYC remembrance as all of the names of the fallen are being read, I am reminded of how so many lives were changed that day! I am proud to be an American where complete strangers come to aid those in need while putting their own lives in danger.  I am thankful to live in a country where common decency still prevails! Being ...

MAJOR DAN “ROCK” DICKINSON ~ F22 RAPTOR PILOT

August 16, 2017

Major Dan "Rock" Dickinson, F-22 Raptor Pilot, Commander of the Demonstration Team, just before demonstrating the capabilities of the most feared fighter jet in the world. The Raptor does both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. When I spoke with Major Dickinson, he mentioned he has logged in more than 900 flying hours in the F-22. This is his second year as a demo pilot. He absolutely loves flying this aircraft. Major Dickinson was actually assigned this aircraft straight out of  pilot ...

WINGS OVER WAYNE AIRSHOW 2017

WINGS OVER WAYNE AIRSHOW 2017

August 11, 2017

The airshow at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC was such a kick-in-the-pants for me! When we arrived in town the day before the show, we decided to pop into Base Operations before checking into our hotel. Having a military ID is awesome! Hubby had bought me a new lens to take with me and I thought what a great way to try it out on something I might see the day before. So we walked out beside the flight line and a few people are sitting in chairs holding binoculars. Oh boy...something is about ...
