Spring Antiques Week 2019 in Round Top Texas was totally awesome! The weather was perfect with a nice breeze, cool mornings and no rain! It was my first time going and I enjoyed every minute, wishing I had more days to explore. Someone mentioned I needed about 10 days there. I would have to agree! I only had 2 days! Round Top has a population of 90, but antiques week brings an additional 100,000 people to the tiny town. That’s a ton of folks Deep in the Heart of Texas! And I was so happy to take it all in…….
Whether you are searching for silver, leather boots, clothing, home decor, chippy paint, outdoor furniture, turquoise, mixed media, fine china, lighting or any type of antique, Marburger Farm is for you!! I even found some gluten free options on menus throughout the venue.

Marburger Farm has two very special fundraising activities. Volunteers in the Houston and Dallas area are constantly needed. It’ll warm your heart to hear about these 2 great organizations! Two great ideas to spread kindness. Read below to see how you can help…….
Whiskey Wednesday is a fun whiskey sampling at Marburger Farm where donations are accepted and given to The Brookwood Community. The Brookwood Community http://www.brookwoodcommunity.org is a God-centered educational, residential, and entrepreneurial community for adults with disabilities. Through the Grace of God, The Brookwood Community, in Brookshire Texas, provides an educational environment that creates meaningful jobs, builds a sense of belonging, and demands dignity and respect for adults with disabilities. What an incredible nonprofit organization this is! They desire to change the way the world thinks about adults with disabilities. The more I learn about it, the more respect I have for the people involved! What an incredible group who are giving back in a mighty way! Take a moment to click on the link to read how it began. Such an amazing story!
The other fundraiser is Dwell With Dignity http://www.dwellwithdignity.org Their mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design; one household at a time. Local Interior Designers in the Dallas area give of their time and energy as they design and install complete home interiors for families who desperately need an environment that will support health and wellness. They empower families to lead their best lives and to thrive in a safe, functional, and beautiful environment. Click on the link to see how you can volunteer or donate to help this incredible organization.
Mark your calendar for next year’s Spring Antique Show! Maybe I’ll see you there.
If you need a nice place to stay, Hampton Inn & Suites in Bastrop is a wonderful hotel to collapse in at night! It’s a 40 minute drive from Round Top, but the drive is easy and passes quickly. The staff is warm and inviting. Housekeeping keeps everything spotless. Misty does a great job at the front desk. Jennifer works super hard in the Dining Room with a great breakfast in the mornings. Some gluten free options and a Smoothie Bar coming in July 2019! If you mention my blog when you make your reservation, you will receive a 10% discount.
